Six trips so far and counting for 2021. In August a friend and I are going for a couple weeks from Port Hardy to Coal Harbor.
As the season winds down I am reminded of the transformational power of the outdoors. Life gets simple in the wild, there is a narrowing and syncing of our energies. There is a surprising loss of everything but the moment and in those moments mystery arises with wisdom in its wings.
If you are looking for a a change, challenge, or a reset I am confident that it can be found out there somewhere. If I can help let me know.
Meister Eckhart said, “God is unnameable and (therefore) Omni-nameable”, and so Meister Eckhart prays, “I pray God to rid me of God. I pray (the unnameable) God to rid me of (the idol I have named) God.”
Chasing the unnameable God is the joy of my life.
For me the experience of God is not found in the certainty of religion but in the mystery of the moment. My writing and life passionately pursue this mystery.
I have been a hockey player, pastor, and entrepreneur. I love life, the outdoors and listening to people's stories. I have been married thirty-eight years to my wife Kelly. Together we have raised four boys. The recent sale of my business has me longing to spend more time out in the wild. Last year I completed a Wilderness First Aid Course and paddled my kayak for over a hundred hours on five trips. I continue to learn each time I go out and count myself fortunate that we live in such a beautiful part of the world. Check out - Your next Adventure
